Our Story
PhalBack’s story begins with our founder, Jeff Lewis, developing prostate cancer in 2019. His doctors decided his prostate should be removed as soon as possible. Today that surgery is performed about 90,000 times per year in the US alone.
Severe erectile dysfunction (ED) is unfortunately a quite common side effect of this surgery.
His erectile dysfunction was now 100%.
His surgeon suggested a penis pump, but his surgeon commented: “You are not going to like it.”
For years, the accepted solution for such concerns has been pumps ordered online. However, these “solutions” tend not to solve much at all. Available options are often poorly designed, uncomfortable, and make achieving erections unpleasant or painful.
After a frustrating and painful period of use, Jeff realized that significant modifications would be required if the device were to be at all effective. Fortunately, with a background as an engineer and machinist, he had the perfect skill set to make those modifications happen.
After months of trial and error and the development of several prototypes, Jeff landed on a design that was not only easy to use, but that was also delivering exceptional results. PhalBack was born late in 2019.
It was always important to Jeff that other men not have to experience the same frustrations he had, and that meant not taking PhalBack to market until it was perfected.
